Is no news good news?

I had word yesterday that my Owl partner had received her parcel but as of yet there's been no response to what was in it :( Ah well tomorrow is a new day.
On a good note though today I had a fun afternoon making stuff for Kookie, one thing was great fun to make and wee one helped me so of course I had to make her one too ;)
One of the other things is something that I haven't done for a very very long time but managed to track down the tool that I needed and woohoo I'm back in business, so much fun!
Right not saying anything else incase I slip up and reveal something I shouldn't :p

Only fools make plans.

I said yesterday I was going to spend the day getting on with Kookaloo's package but today I mostly slept. I woke up to get the smalls to school, came home had a cup of tea pottered around then went to lie on the bed...fell asleep. Woke up to pick up wee from school, came home watched a DVD with her and big one when she arrived home, wee one went over the road to play with her friend and guess what? Yep I fell asleep. I am now summoning up the energy to get up the stairs to go to bed. I don't know what's wrong with me but man I am sooooo tired.

Anyway I promised I post pics of the things I sent to KathleenAlice for the Boosh Swap so here goes.
A t shirt with this on the front

and this on the back

Of course every girl needs a Boosh bag

A giraffe skin notecard holder with hand drawn Vince cards.

A Spirit of Jazz brooch.

Some glass painted tealights.

I also sent her two dishcloths but numpty that I am I forgot to take pics of them.
Anyway she liked everything so that always makes me happy :)
I got word today that my Owl partner got her package today well you got a note saying it was at the post office so hopefully tomorrow I'll know is she likes her stuff too.

Right now I'm away to my bed :(

Lucky lucky girl I am

Swapping is double fun firstly because you get the enjoyment of creating and making things for your partner and then of course the fantastic things your partner makes for you.
Kookaloo_Starr is my partner in the Buy Nothing Swap and sweetheart that she is she totally spoiled me. Seriously look at this lot

Not ony did she make me 3 fab bags, an apron, two hats, a scarf, an knitting needle roll, a crochet hoook case AND a pin cushion she made wee one 2 scoodies and a pair of felted slippers and big one a fab bag and purse. The smalls are thrilled that they got something I make so much stuff for other people I guess they like it when they get something. Not that I don't make them things too...oh that'll be my guilt ridden parent routine breaking through.

I also received this wonderful lot from Thunderchild in the Owl Swap. An owl swap waas the first swap I ever signed up for on Craftster so when another one opened up I HAD to take part again :D

She sent me a gorgeous bag, a crochet hook roll, a hama bead mat, a tissue holder, a necklace, a bracelet and a phone charm. I posted her package today so I'll hold off from putting up any pictures until she gets them, don't want to spoil any surprises.

The third swap I signed up for was The Mighty Boosh swap, how could I not sign up for that? My partner was KathleenAlice who sent me my goodies in my first ever swap(remember the owl swap?) Anyway this is what she made me

A poncho made from the Spirit of Jazz wool, a pair of mittens, a Spirit of Jazz lighter holder, some fab stitch markers and a needle roll (yes I have now taken that off my wist list but they're all full so it's no bad thing ;) )

This is what I made for her. Ok forget that can you believe it seems I forgot to take a picture of everything together. I'll post pics seperately tomorrow, this one is getting a bit image heavy.

Ok just one more thing, I offered to be an angel for someone who was flaked on in the Punk It Up Swap. Today I finished everything off.

I did stenciled and studded a shirt, made a shrinky Siouxsie keyring, studded a skull onto a wee journal and finally stenciled onto a scrap of material then stitched it on to a bag. I hope she likes it.

Tomorrow I'll be continuing work (work is such a harsh word because it doesn't feel like work) on Kookaloo's package. Good job I've still got plenty of time to make things because I keep coming up with more and more ideas :D

Ouch!

My wrists are sooooooo sore. I have spent the last 3 nights knitting a ***** for my partner in the Owl Swap over on Craftster, it probably didn't help that I had to unpick a good 30cms of it because I'm stupid. Fortunately I didn't lose any stitches - I'm not very experienced in unpick and picking stitches back up. Anyway it is done just need to finish off a couple of other things and then I can totally focus on my Buy Nothing Swap partner ;) My gawd there just aren't enough hours in the day.
I am also in full stress mode because my package to my Boosh partner still hasn't arrived at her house. Honestly I'm so stressed about it I could cry. :( I really enjoyed making that stuff and will be gutted if it's disappeared.
Anyway need to go rest my wrists now so I can craft up a storm again tomorrow night.

Bright ideas and no sleep.

In an ever ongoing attempt to be more sociable we had friends round for a few drinks last night. We all try to have house parties every so often not because we want to recreate our crazy teenage years but more due to the fact that we've all got kids and doing it this way no one has to worry about babysitters as the kids just come along too. By the time everyone was ready for home wee one her and her pal didn't want the night to end and wanted a sleep over so we all agreed yes that was fine, however by 3.30am C had decided that actually she didn't want to miss out on any Daddy time. Her Dad works away all week and is only home at the weekends so I could understand how she would want to be at home to see her Daddy first thing in the morning. Him indoors works away for a month at a time so I guess my smalls are a little more used to his absences. :( Anyway 3.40am saw me walking said small person home..how nice am I?

Today I'd promised big one if I wasn't horrendously hungover that we could go on a 'just the two of us' shopping trip. Thankfully no hangover (again! I have a horrible feeling one of these days that will catch up with me) so off we went. She's now a very happy bunny because she got 2 new pairs of jeans, a new hoodie, some new school trousers and various other goodies.

Only downside to all this socialising is that I haven't done a single crafty thing and the dates on my current swaps are looming ever closer and I've volunteered to angel for someone so that's now 3 lots of stuff I need to get sorted. I'm working tomorrow but come Monday I WILL have to get going and start producing. And breath!

Warning I may moan

Actually scrap that I will moan. My legs ache, my feet hurt, I'm knackered and I feel as fat as a big fat thing. Descriptive aren't I?

Right well that's that out of the way. On a good note I got my Mighty Boosh swap stuff posted out today, I'm actually really looking forward to my partner getting her stuff as I really really enjoyed making it all. Nope hang on swap anxiety just sneaked back in again...what if she hates it all?

Another good thing that happened today (yes I know I was just moaning but I'm trying my best to find the positives) was that I found 4 great craft books in our local charity shop. They're all old ones, lots of 1970s dress and shirt patterns, quite a bit of macrame going on too actually, but there are some really cute ideas in them and I will definately be using them as future inspiration. I wonder if my Buy Nothing Swap partner fancies a macrame bikini? :D

Sunday and no hangover

Woohoo, what more can a girl ask for. Well time to practice on the drums to try to master a new technique AND time to make things for Craftster swaps...no pics cos you never know who's lurking about ;) AND time to walk the dogs AND time to make a big sunday dinner. Well I got all that done and more. What a fab sunday.

Happy New Year

OMG I must be the worst blogger!
Ach well I'm here now :D So how's 2008 going so far you may ask (or not) Well I've decided that 2008 is the year that I really need to fix myself. My head, my heart and my health. So my blog will either turn into a rambling belch of gas or it might improve. Now there's an idea.
Right first things first. I have an outstanding PIF (scroll down a few posts please) no one picked up on it and I really really want to get it going again. So if anyone would like to make me happy by letting me do just that and get themselves a little piece of Tazzy craftiness into the bargain then please please please commment on this post and I'll be in touch.

Right need to go do more stalking...I am currently signed up for 3 swaps over at Craftster and today I very nearly ruined my new jeans by spilling glass paint all down on leg. :D
