Things I never expected to hear as a parent.

Getting a phone call at 10 at night from big one to say she and her friend love me so much right now for suggesting they take a toilet roll with them is a new experience in my Mothering journey for sure.
To explain big one is on a selection weekend with the Scouting Association if she gets chosen she will spend up to 5 weeks next summer in Malawii.
When big one was getting her bags ready this afternoon I suggested that they take a toilet roll with them because you never know what you’re going to have to face for toilets on some campsites
The phone call to tell me they love me is because the toilet there is gross and for some bizarre reason the lock is on the outside of the door and there was something said about the toilet seat but I didn’t quite catch that bit as they were giggling and ewwwing too much. At least there is a door girls!!.

Good to know I have my uses eh?

you can get travel toilet roll - andrex 99p approx 50 sheets without the cardboard bit from asda and tesco! and yes I've bought one - how sad is that! lol

that picture of the toilet is hilarious! and it's never a bad idea to have extra toilet paper on hand when you're camping!

we holiday in france (when we have money!) and no one provides loo rool, not even cafe or supermarket loos! public loos don't nor do the campsites, no one sells plastic shooping bags either! you take your own! you soon get used to it!

Hey I have done Glastonbury a couple of times and I know all about toilets! lol

I usually carry wipes, tissues, suntan lotion, plasters, scissors, penknife, and a marker pen.... as well as all the usual stuff... If I ever break down I can write a sign saying "help... useless woman with flat tyre... !" ;D

these days I have started carrying antibacterial wipes... I don't know about the public conveniences in your neck of the woods but doen here they are dire! lol do people not wipe the seat after they've been? uuurrgh! lol

hope she enjoys her selection precess and well done for being a fantastic level headed mum! xx

Excellent advice!! Why on earth would you have a lock on the outside of a toilet door!?
