It's Official

I have totally lost the plot!
As most of friends know I am not someone who enjoys seeing all the Christmas stuff coming out in the shops in August. I do not want to see Christmas cards and tinsel for months on end and why do they put the Christmas stuff out only to have to shove it over to one side to put out the Halloween stuff!

So how then did I find myself looking at Christmas Wreaths today? And why have I fallen in love with this one?

Available from The Flower Room for £68 if anyone is feeling particulary flush

My hormones must also be kicking in big time as it's far girlier than anything I would normally go for.

I think I better go join wee one under the duvet on the sofa. She came home from school at lunchtime unwell, again I think that's just a case of exhaustion.

I'm just wondering if

I'm still suffering from sleep deprivation. I have spent all day today thinking it was Wednesday. Even though I knew big one would be late home from school because of her school competition practise AND I took wee one to her drama class. Both of which only happen on a Thursday!

We flew back into Glasgow airport at 6am Monday morning to minus 4 degrees temperature and a good 20 minutes of de-icing the car. By the time I'd driven through rush hour city traffic and the 150 odd miles drive back home I'd been awake for nearly 30 hours. I had a snooze for a couple of hours then it was another 65 mile round trip to go collect the Monster dog from my pals house.

Did I have a holiday? Cos I think I need one to get over all that. LOL

Tunisia was wonderful though. We had a fab time and once my poor tired head is feeling more compos mentis I'll share more.

Missed you all xx

Stress!!!

I thought going on holiday was supposed to be good for you, maybe once I'm actually there I will start to destress but right now I'm about ready to pull my hair out!

The day started with the case of the missing flip flop, wee one could only find one flip flop in her room. After much angst and near tears (probably both mine) she finally found it downstairs. Of course!

We then took the Monster dog up to my pals for his stay with her. He has not been a happy dog for a good week now, shadowing me around the house. He knew something was about to happen, bless him. But he seemed quite happy at my pals when we left.

Coming home I continued with the packing. Can anyone get all their cases to weigh the same? Then I had a panic as my tickets said 15kg but my email confirmation said 20kg. I checked the airline policy, that said 20kg. So finally I put a plea out on facebook and a pal assured me it's 20kg. And the airline policy states you can share the weight out amongst the family. Phew!

Now I am having a wee glass of wine before I go to bed and no doubt mentally recheck everything I've packed in my head over and over and over again.

In my next life I'm being rich and having people who do all this kind of thing for me. LOL.

Right I'll see you all in a couple of weeks and you never know I might have seen a fellow blogger while I'm out there. ;) It just proves it's a small world eh?

Missing you already xxx

How soon do you pack?

The smalls and I are off to Tunisia with my friend and her wee boy at the weekend for two weeks of sun, sun and sun oh and fun. She's been packed and ready to go for over a week, I've yet to pack. There are a few things thrown in the case but no proper, formal, folded, proper packing.

So I was just wondering... when do you pack for a holiday? And I do mean proper, all packed, zip done up, labels attached packed. Yes that is how packed my lovely friend is. :)

We're looking forward to lots of this kind of thing but I am NOT getting on no camel!

And I think I'm going to end up dragging my pal out of these places. She's already upped her baggage allowance for all the goodies she knows she'll end up buying. LOL

Tomorrow I plan on making a list and going about the house collecting all the holiday clothes that the smalls were supposed to leave in their suitcases freshly washed and ironed (by me I should add!) after their holiday with their Dad but have instead snuck into their wardrobes. I will be packed by the night before, I promise ;)

Oh and wee one LOVED her birthday mermaid cake - thank you to everyone for your lovely comments about it and her birthday wishes. xx

More cake vicar?

This blog is starting to look like a cake shop. :) But I guess that's not such a bad thing.

Wee one turns 10 tomorrow, the big double figures. She's very excited. I'm stunned that my wee cherub is going to be 10, where the flip did the last 10 years go?

Anyway as we're off on our hollybobs next weekend she had a birthday sleepover with one of her wee pals this weekend so of course I had to make a cake.

This week's colours were Ice blue and Chesnut.

Yes that pink icing is supposed to be Chestnut - I always thought chestnut's were brown but never mind.

And yes I did go a bit mad with the toppings didn't I? :D

Now her original request for her birthday cake was a microphone but by Monday that had changed to a Mermaid.
I hope she's not changed her mind as this is what I've come up with.

I need to stop staring at it now as I'm just noticing all the faults. Keep your fingers crossed for me that wee one is happy with it.
