Post birthday but not blue

Well despite still being poorly for my actual birthday I can't complain on the presents front. I was totally spoiled or is that spoilt...anyway. Him indoors finally heard my pleas and I got the gorgeous purple ghds that came complete with travel hairdryer and case. It all came in a beautiful purple box which as most people who know me know feeds my box fetish too.


I also received Kylie's Sweet Darling perfume and the gorgeous Diesel Fuel for Life perfume. Guess I'll smell ok from now on ;)



The girls bought me a Pandora bracelet (latest charm bracelt craze in case you haven't heard of it)
This is the wee chicken licken charm that wee one chose for me. I guess I really do have to stick to my resolution to get chickens now then eh?

I also got a lovely glass bead but can't find a single picture of it online and can't take a decent up close shot of it to save my life.

I also had book vouchers, 3 gorgeous bouquets of flowers, chocolates and money. Yep definately a lucky girl.
I did manage to go out for something to eat with the kids on the evening of my birthday but that was a bit of a disaster. Well not so much a disaster as the fact that the kids spent most of the meal laughing like crazy. I just couldn't eat anything that had a sauce on it as it smelt and tasted really and I mean really bad to me. Unfortunately I didn't realise this till halfway through the starter when I suddenly caught a hint of the bbq sauce wee one was dipping her chicken into. And guess what I had ordered for my main course? Oh yes you got it. Chicken smothered in bbq sauce. But I didn't starve big one very kindly shared her lasagna with me and as I've not been eating much over the last few days that was more than enough for my poor tummy.

Today we met up with my friend from work for lunch. Well I could hardly say no as I'd already had to cancel our night out for my birthday. Luckily I was able to order something that had no sauce on or near it :)

I'm amazed at the number of people entering my birthday giveaway. Thank you everyone for taking the time to join in the fun. Not long now and I'll be putting the names in a hat.
Speaking of giveaways I had the pleasure of discovering today that I am one of the winners on Jellybelly*Jellybrain's fabric giveaway. What a great way to finish off my birthday weekend.

Tomorrow unfortunately will see me attempting to make a dent on my to do list. It's a very very long list, what with me being ill all week and as my energy levels are still very low it might take me sometime.....

My first Giveaway

Yes I am offering The Cath Kidston book 'Make' It doesn't not however have the free tote bag with it as the company I bought it from informed me that the tote bag did not come with 'this' book. Well I did get it a whole lot cheaper than the retail price so I guess I shouldn't complain. But I did anyway LOL

I love my bed

Well after much nagging I took myself off to the Dr yesterday because the pain in my jaw/ears was just getting too damn painful to ignore anymore. After having the Dr probe around in my ears she wrote me out a prescription for some antibiotics and confirmed that yes you have an ear infection. Now I don't know if anyone else has the same issue with antibiotics as me but they actually make me feel worse. I started the course yesterday evening and by the time I put wee one to her bed at 8pm I flaked out by the side of her. I woke up at 10pm staggered downstairs switched everything off and got big one off to her bed and then collapsed back into my bed until the alarm went off this morning. You'd think after all that sleep I'd feel a bit better this morning but no I managed to get the smalls off their schools and then crawled my sorry arse back up to bed where I have stayed all day. My friend woke me up with a check up phone call this morning and told me to make sure I phoned in sick for work tomorrow which I duly did this afternoon but don't think my boss was too thrilled. But there is no way I'd be able to be upright behind the bar all day tomorrow. My friend says I HAVE to be better by Saturday but the last thing I can even think about right now is making a drink never mind drinking. :(
Right I'm away back to my bed, well it's not like I've had much sleep today is it?

And so it begins

I appear to have done something bad to my foot which has been giving me grief for the last week, my jaw bones hurt bad and my bones ache. Maybe I should actually go to the Dr. I am one of those (possibly) silly people who just don't go to the Dr until their leg is falling off or they're dragged there by the hair. I think it's because my Mother lives in the Drs, not literally but her life revolves around what her latest illness is, how many tablets she has to take a day etc etc etc. Anyway not being able to chew is probably a good start to my New Year diet no? :)

Him indoors is currently running around the shops in a last minute panic with the small people to buy me a birthday present. It is my birthday on Saturday and he is back off shore to work tomorrow morning. The taxi is booked for 4.15am - don't start me on the whole why does he have to wake me up too thing! Anyway he has ordered my present from him online which I am very pleased about as I have been hinting for them for ever. Who knows what the smalls will be able to find in the shops in the 10 minutes they'll probably have before the shops shut LOL Luckily I already know one of the things big one has got me because I bought it myself and gave it to her to give to me LOL Crafty? No just practical ;)

I am still having issues with my laptop - but aaaah ok enough with the moaning.

I just got a text from my friend at work which gave me a shock because the way she worded it I read I should be at work but fortunately she rang me straight away when she realised I was hopping around. My god if the state my head has been in for the last 5 days is anything to go by 2009 is going to be one nutty year.

Yes I did the most ungreenest thing and bought fancy cloths instead of using my knitted dishcloths and old rags. The Green Fairy will surely smite me but they are soooo preeeettty. :)

Oh and these have absolutely nothing to do with my sore foot I swear. I was not wearing them!!! But I'm not going to show you the one's I was wearing ;)



Oh go on one last piccy just because having a nice chat with you has helped put a smile back on my face.

You were interesting, you brought ups and downs, you brought laughter and tears. I learnt things, I forgot things, I'll remember things I might not want to and I'll forget things I'll wish I could remember.

Well that was Christmas over with

now to get through the New Year fuss. Sorry I know I sound like a miserable moo. Christmas wasn't quite the day it should/could have been but the kids were happy with their presents and dinner was lovely.
Now we're all in the limbo land between Christmas and New Year when no one is quite sure what day it is. This is not going to be a long blog today, hopefully when I come back I can be a bit more cheerful. Off now to blow my snotty nose and drink some hot orange and try muster up some energy to tidy the house.
Ok I'm going, I'm going. I should have titled this Don't Read This. :)
